I observed a trend, a significant shift in where customers were spending their time. It was the world of social media, and traditional marketing methods were gradually being phased out…

Back then, I was just a high school student, but I saw the future emerging. A spark of an idea ignited within me. The concept was simple: assist businesses, and individuals in sourcing their customers online. 

Despite my lack of skills, I immersed myself in various training programs, picking up bits and pieces from each… Eventually, my efforts bore fruit. I got self-employment online as a social media strategist, and a web designer.

This job led to another unexpected opportunity.

I established an online platform to share my newly acquired skills with my peers.

Initially, the fear of failure gnawed at me… What if this venture doesn’t work? Would my friends mock me? Despite the whirlwind of doubts, I decided to take the leap…and I was astounded by the results.

I discovered that I could make a significant impact on young entrepreneurs’ lives… Naturally, it took me some time to master website creation and my courses. With my site live and functional, a journalist got my story a few years later, featuring it in a local magazine in 2019.

Then Covid-19 struck, and my predictions become a reality. Organizations, government services, local schools, even universities, all transitioned to online platforms. Institutions unable to make the switch had no choice but to shut their doors. It was a heart-wrenching period for many businesses.

I’m very sure you still remember those tumultuous days… Numerous organizations closed, causing a ripple effect of job losses.

During that period, I served as a Freelance Business class instructor for a community-based organization (AIHD). We were fortunate to evade lockdown because we were equipped to operate online.

Today, I still foresee more challenges on the horizon. The cost of living continues to climb, fuel is a mounting concern, and taxes are accumulating! We all hoped for relief post-Covid, but the reality is… the situation remains unchanged!
